It is known as cloud to aqueous vapor mass that is suspended in the atmosphere . The clouds, visible in the heaven , are formed by drops of water or snow crystals. By dispersing visible light, they are usually perceived as white , although when they are very dense the light fails to get through and appear as gray or black .

For example: “The day dawned sunny, although the clouds soon appeared”, "Look at those clouds: I think it will rain tomorrow", “The sky was covered with clouds and seemed to get dark”.

According to their appearance and their characteristics, the clouds receive different nominations. The nimbus clouds they are those capable of forming precipitation (which, according to various factors, will be rain, snow or hail). The strata clouds , on the other hand, are stratified, while the cumulus clouds They have vertical development. The cirrus clouds , on the other hand, they stand out for being formed by crystals of ice.

The notion of clouds, however, has other uses. A cloud, in a symbolic sense, can be a grouping or large amount of something that goes for him air : "After the explosion, a cloud of smoke covered the sky", “We were on the beach when a cloud of seagulls descended on the sea”.

The large amount of people or things that are together also called cloud: “Better go to another place: this is a cloud of people”, "I think my son dreams of living in a cloud of candy and candy". This term can also be something that obscures or conceals a thing : “We live difficult moments, but the clouds have already moved away”.

For computing

The English term cloud computing make reference to work in the cloud and means to operate applications that are found and run in a computer remote, and that they keep their session data in it. Currently, this technology is increasingly popular, both in the field of video games and in the development of applications and the creation of documents.

In theory, any application can run in the cloud, regardless of the volume of information to be transmitted per second, although it is clear that in certain cases it only becomes practicable if the user has a high Internet connection speed and with an extremely low latency (that is, the delay in communication is almost imperceptible to humans).

Let's look at some of the advantages of working in the cloud:

* it allows a device with basic or moderate specifications to "run" extremely demanding applications, since the processing is done in a server remote;

* does not require the user disk space to store their applications;

* By always staying on the computers of the company that provides the cloud services, the same individual can make use of their programs and personal documents wherever they are, with any device;

* It offers an almost universal level of compatibility, since it does not usually require more functions that the Internet connection to allow interaction with endless applications.

On the other hand, the cloud has its disadvantages, such as:

* a cut in the Internet service is enough for a large number of users to run out of access to their programs and games, despite having paid for them and still having an electrical supply;

* similar to the previous point, you cannot have real control over our applications and our information, since they are in a remote site and receive maintenance from third parties;

* there are more risks of security problems, especially when sensitive data is stored in the cloud.
